Impeachment proceedings against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton set to begin today

 September 4, 2023

The Texas State Senate is set to begin impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Ken Paxton on Tuesday related to allegations of bribery and abuse of public trust.

The hearings are expected to be extremely tense and chaotic as Paxton has many allies due to his hardline conservative stance and bullish attitude that has led to him being responsible for a majority of the lawsuits against the Biden administration.

Paxton, by many standards, is the fiercest opponent of the left both in Texas and nationally, as he has been a thorn in President Biden's side since he was sworn into office.

State Representative David Spiller (R) issued a statement saying, "No one person should be above the law, least not the top law officer of the state of Texas."

As for Paxton, he defended himself, saying, "The fact that I was prohibited from presenting evidence to defend myself reveals that this shameful process was curated from the start as an act of political retribution."

It is suspicious that there is a massive explosion of allegations against Paxton considering that he has been a warrior for conservatives for years. Americans ought to pay close attention to what is happening in Texas right now.
