Illinois Supreme Court Ends Cash Bail In Midst Of Crime Wave

 July 20, 2023

The Illinois Supreme Court has made a decision.

Despite a massive crime wave happening right now, the justices just made the decision to allow a state law that will end cash bail to take effect in the near future.

Keep in mind, they're doing this even though countless people have voiced their concerns about people who are swiftly released from custody committing more crimes.

A rapist is a rapist, and a murderer is a murderer.

If they broke the law before with no consequences, given that they were let out of jail almost instantly pending subsequent court dates, what's to stop them from doing it again?

Common sense would say that there would be nothing would stop them.

But America's liberals are NOT about common sense.

According to CWB Chicago:

In a 5-2 opinion released Tuesday morning, the court ordered the elimination of cash bail as approved by the legislature to take effect in 60 days, on September 18.

The court’s written opinion on Tuesday said Kankakee County Judge Thomas Cunnington applied “uneven reasoning” in his December 28 ruling that found the elimination of cash bail to be unconstitutional.

Cunnington “ignored the plain language of the constitution,” the court wrote, pointing out that the state constitution “does not include the term ‘monetary’” when it says nearly all criminal defendants must be bailable by “sufficient sureties.”

I would ask you to leave your opinion on this in the comments below, but I already know that you feel the same as I do. This is an AWFUL idea.

We're supposed to be protecting our victims. Liberals want to protect our criminals.
