Illegal migrant charged in NYPD officer attack arrested again for alleged robbery attempt

Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg's year went from bad to worse this week.

According to the New York Post, one of the illegal migrants arrested in the brazen attack on two NYPD officers earlier this month was arrested yet again.

Bragg was previously under fire for not immediately charging the suspects who were caught after the attack on the NYPD officers. He was widely criticized before finally issuing indictments.

Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, 19, one of the original alleged suspects in the attack on NYPD Lt. Ben Kurian and NYPD Police Officer Zunxu Tian, was arrested Tuesday night for his alleged involvement in "a coordinated robbery of a Macy’s store in Queens."

The Post noted:

He is one of four people charged for allegedly entering the Queens Center Mall around 5:33 p.m. Tuesday and “acting in concert” to steal clothes that they tried to hide in bags.

The group of thugs was confronted by a security officer, which resulted in what police called a "struggle." One of the suspects involved in the brawl punched the security officer in the face.

On Wednesday morning, the illegal migrant suspect was led out of the 110th Precinct station in cuffs to be transported to Queens Criminal Court for his arraignment on new charges of robbery and petty larceny charges.

Those charges are in addition to the charges he faces for the attack on the two NYPD officers, which were second-degree assault on a police officer and obstructing governmental administration.

Notably, the incident happened just days before a scheduled key hearing in DA Bragg's hush-money case against former President Donald Trump, which resulted in the judge setting the trial date for March 25 after dismissing his request to delay or dismiss the trial.

Social media users reacted to the news of the illegal migrant's second arrest.

"This is Darwin Andres Gomez Izquiel, 19, an illegal who was arrested earlier this month after he beat up NYPD cops. He was released without bail. He was just arrested again for helping organize a robbery at a Macy’s. Democrats’ no bail policies in action. They’re letting illegals terrorize American citizens," LibsOfTikTok wrote on X.

Another X user wrote, "New York City is now Gotham City under Alvin Bragg."

Many believe that the influx of illegal migrants in NYC are committing brazen crimes because they know there's a good chance Bragg will release them without bail. The situation is becoming more dangerous by the day.
