Hunter Biden's former business partner's SCOTUS appeal rejected

 January 23, 2024

One of Hunter Biden's most infamous former business partners, Devon Archer, received bad news this week at the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court.

According to Fox News, the high court refused to hear Archer's appeal "regarding his criminal conviction for his alleged role in defrauding a Native American tribe."

Archer, now known for his role in serving alongside Hunter Biden on the Ukrainian energy company Burisma's board, was sentenced to prison in 2018 over his role in the defrauding scheme.

This most recent rejection marks his second lost appeal by the high court.

Fox News noted:

The ordeal stems from Archer’s alleged role in defrauding a Native American tribal entity and various investment advisory clients of tens of millions of dollars in connection with the issuance of bonds by the tribal entity and the subsequent sale of those bonds through "fraudulent and deceptive means," according to the Department of Justice.

Notably, Archer was extraordinarily lucky later in 2018 when Manhattan-based U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams tossed his conviction, saying she was "left with an unwavering concern that Archer is innocent of the crimes charged."

That luck would later run out in 2020, just prior to the November election that year, as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated his conviction.

In 2022, Archer received a one-year and one-day prison sentence in February 2022. The constant stream of appeals has prevented him from actually being behind bars, Fox reported.

At the time, Archer's lawyer, Matthew Schwartz, released a statement proclaiming his client's innocence.

"Mr. Archer is obviously disappointed with today’s sentence, and intends to appeal. It is unfortunate that the judge, who has previously expressed concern that Mr. Archer is innocent of the crimes charged and reiterated that belief today, felt that she was constrained not to act on her independent assessment of the evidence."

Social media users reacted to the latest news of the high court rejecting Archer's appeal.
