Hunter Biden will plead guilty to criminal charges

President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, is set to plead guilty to two charges relating to a failure to pay federal income tax.

The Department of Justice said in a court filing that the guilty plea is coming as Biden has reached a plea deal on the charges.

"The letter was filed by U.S. Attorney David Weiss in the U.S District Court for the District of Delaware on Tuesday and also said he would be charged with a gun possession charge," reported Knewz.

"The pretrial diversion agreement for the one count of possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of an addicted or controlled substance will likely allow him to avoid prosecution," Knewz reported.

The Department of Justice has been investigating Hunter Biden's failure to pay his taxes, among other illegal activities, for several years.

"Hunter Biden has reached a plea deal in which he will admit guilt to federal tax charges and resolve a separate gun charge," Knewz reported. "The Department of Justice has released a statement regarding the president’s son that he has agreed to plead guilty to criminal tax and gun-related felonies."

"As part of the plea agreement, the Justice Department has agreed to recommend a sentence of probation for the two counts of failing to pay taxes in a timely matter for the years 2017 and 2018, according to CNN. "Hunter Biden owed at least $100,000 in federal taxes for 2017, and at least $100,000 in 2018, but did not pay what was due to the Internal Revenue Service by the deadlines."

The final say in Hunter's sentencing will be left to a judge.
