Hunter Biden appeared in a Delaware federal court on Tuesday to plead not guilty to three gun felonies stemming from a gun purchase he made while using drugs, which is illegal.

Magistrate Judge Christopher Burke confirmed that Biden continues to pass regular drug tests and did not set another trial date for the case.

Burke rejected a previous request by Biden to appear virtually at the hearing, forcing Biden to travel from California where he now lives to Delaware to appear before him.

The case may tie into a House impeachment inquiry looking to see whether President Joe Biden and his family received payouts from foreign business interests for access to the president, as well as whether the DOJ under Biden has prevented investigations and charges being brought against Hunter Biden.

A former plea deal that would have let Hunter Biden escape any jail time collapsed in July, which led to special counsel David Weiss filing new charges against him.
