There might be a long list of Republican presidential hopefuls, but former President Donald Trump continues to maintain a stronghold on support from Republican voters across the country, marking him as the clear frontrunner.
According to Breitbart, even failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton admitted during a recent PBS interview that she believes Trump will be the Republican nominee.
Running the usual talking points, Clinton disparaged Trump, accusing him of attempting to "undermine the rule of law," and added that he was the "dark and dystopian" candidate.
She also made sure to slip in a plug for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, even though their polling numbers remain in the gutter and even their own party voters are not even remotely excited about the prospect.
"The alternative is so dark and dystopian. He wants to undermine the rule of law, to destroy our institutions, to pull us out of NATO, do Putin’s bidding, to be unwilling to stand up for the real American values, to put one person above the country. None of that is American. So, I think that Biden/Harris deserves to be reelected. I think we have to reelect them given what the alternative is," Clinton said.
She continued her Trump Derangement Syndrome-ridden rant against the former president, who beat her soundly in the 2016 election.
"A big part of the Republican base feels a connection to Trump. I still believe sitting here today he will be their nominee, no matter how hard others may try to distinguish themselves," the former secretary of state said.
She added, "I think it’s a very sad commentary on what people are looking for in a leader, because everything that he allegedly stands for is at odds with so much of what has made this country work for a long time."
Clinton then blamed Trump's apparently ability to "manipulate" social media to brainwash people into following him and agreeing with his viewpoints, which says a lot about how she feels about American voters.
She also suggested that those who agree with the former president's policies must be "cult" members.
"It’s the emotional, psychological, cultural connection to someone who really has unfortunately manipulated social media and also some so-called mainstream media in a way that people believe what he says to them. That’s hard to break. It is like being in a cult almost," Clinton said.
She added, "So, I know the Republicans running against him are trying very hard. I don’t think they are going to be successful, given where we are. So then I think it is imperative on the country to once again defeat Trump and elect Biden."
Clinton had another "basket of deplorables" moment on Thursday evening during a CNN interview, but arguably much worse. She actually said out loud that she believes MAGA voters should be "reprogrammed," which sparked immediate backlash.
Hillary Clinton suggests that Trump supporters need to be placed in reeducation camps.
“At some point maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members.”
