Hillary Clinton demands social media companies censor free speech or 'we lose control'
Two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton let it slip that free speech must be censored in order to maintain control.
During an interview with CNN's Michael Smerconish on Saturday, Clinton explained that social media companies should not have immunity when it comes to content posted on their platforms.
Clinton said, “We should be, in my view, repealing something called Section 230, which gave, you know, platforms on the internet immunity because they were thought to be just pass-throughs, that they shouldn’t be judged for the content that is posted. But we now know that that was an overly simple view, that if the platforms, whether it’s Facebook or Twitter/X or Instagram or TikTok, whatever they are, if they don’t moderate and monitor the content, we lose total control."
It's Clinton's wording at the end of this statement that exposes what the Democratic Party's obsession with censorship is all about. Democrats want to control the flow of information and by having social media platforms that aren't falling in line, Democrats cannot control the free flow of information.
This has nothing to do with "safety" or the myriad other excuses that Democrats use when talking about censorship.
Democrats control the mainstream media and have for decades, but the rise of social media has broken up that monopoly. Clinton wants to reestablish the monopoly Democrats have had on information for years and to do that all social media platforms must be forced to censor conservative speech.
