Former President Donald Trump said on Thursday during an interview on the Buck Sexton and Clay Travis radio show that he would consider journalist Tucker Carlson as a possible running mate.
"I want to give you a hypothetical here...Would Tucker Carlson be on your list of potential VPs?" Clay Travis asked Trump.
Trump responded:
I like Tucker a lot. I guess I would. I think I'd say I would because he's got great common sense. You know when they say that 'you guys are conservative' or 'I'm conservative.' It's not that we're conservative. We have common sense. We want to have safe borders. We want to have a wall because walls work.
He then brought up the interview he did with Carlson that aired during the first GOP primary debate in August, which Trump did not attend citing his 30-point lead in polls.
"Tucker wanted to do an interview during the first debate," Trump said. "We broke every record."
Trump has not given much indication who among a long list of possibilities he would choose as a running mate as he spends a good deal of time in court fighting the four indictments and two civil trials in which he is involved.
