Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) called on Friday for the FBI to investigate 85,000 missing migrant children who were released into the U.S. but that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) now can't find.

Hawley wrote a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray urging the investigation into missing Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) as well as their adult sponsors who he said are “holding them in modern-day slavery.”

Biden officials are ignoring warnings that many of these UACs end up being sex trafficked or forced into child labor.

Hawley alleged that vetting processes for adult sponsors of UACs have become too loose, and children are paying the price.

In addition to investigating the missing children, “The FBI must also investigate HHS and the Department of Homeland Security for their role in facilitating the exploitation of these children, in violation of the law,” he continued.

A whistleblower at a House Homeland Security subcommittee hearing this week claimed that the federal government is acting as a middleman for a “multi-billion-dollar child trafficking operation.”
