Harvey Weinstein's Legal Team Appealing 2020 Rape Conviction

 February 16, 2024

Onetime movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who was convicted of sexually related offenses, is trying to appeal his 2020 rape conviction.

Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years behind bars for the heinous crimes of which he was found guilty, including forced oral sex and 3rd-degree rape.

But, despite being found GUILTY, his legal team says, “it was his character that was on trial.”

“It wasn’t the evidence that was on trial,” said Arthur Aidala, Weinstein’s lawyer.

Aidala did not stop there.

“We had a defendant who was begging to tell his side of the story. It’s a he-said, she-said case, and he’s saying, ‘that’s not how it happened. Let me tell you how I did it,” Aidala continued.

If Weinstein is released from prison, there will, without a doubt, be an uproar from countless individuals who feel he is right where he belongs -- behind bars.

No other information has been released on Weinstein’s appeal at this time.
