GOP women favor Trump for president by double digits

March 12, 2023

A plurality of Republican women support former President Donald Trump to take the White House in 2024, more than double digits higher than the next nearest candidate, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, according to a Fox News poll.

Trump had support from 40% of GOP women, while DeSantis had 23%. Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, the only other official candidate and the only woman in the field, got 9%.

In a head-to-head matchup between Trump and Haley, he got 63% to Haley's 27%.

Almost half of Republican women, 46%, consider the economy to be the top issue in the upcoming election season, followed by immigration at 23%.

The women's support for Trump was a few percentage points lower than his overall support, which was 43%, but is still stronger than other candidates.

Unless Trump falters in some way or something else changes, he's going to be pretty hard to beat when the primaries start next year.
