GOP standing behind Hegseth amid sexual assault claims

 November 24, 2024

Sometimes you don't learn who your real friends are until the chips are down.

Luckily, Donald Trump's pick for Defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, has a lot of them.

Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin is the latest person to come out in support of Hegseth, someone who many people feel is the victim of a fraudulent sexual assault claim.

A few years ago, Hegseth met a woman, and she took him to her hotel room. He had had a bit to drink and probably wasn't thinking clearly. After the incident, Hegseth was accused of sexual assault.

HOWEVER, security footage reveals that the woman may have actually been the aggressor, and it seems as though she may have been trying to set Hegseth up for fame or a payday.

Even though police found no wrongdoing on Hegseth's part, liberals are still trying to use this event to tear him down.

"There was no case here. He was falsely accused," Mullin said of Hegseth. "She was being the aggressor. Pete wasn’t even flirting with her. He was flirting with a different girl, and [the Jane Doe] was trying to flirt with Pete. He wasn’t charged. He wasn’t even kind of charged in this. There was no crime committed. The police dropped everything."
