GOP operative in Alabama charged with 'sexual torture' and murder

Kyle Hayden Lewter has been charged with murder for the alleged slaying of Derek Franklin Walls according to a release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama.

Lewter is well known in Republican circles, as he served as the campaign chairman for Alabama state Sen. Tom Butler and also worked as the vice-chair of the Madison County Young Republicans.

A statement from police explained that "The victim and offender knew each other and got into a physical altercation that resulted in the victim being injured. It appears he died as a result of those injuries. Detectives are awaiting autopsy results, but again we have confirmed that the victim was not shot."

Adding to this case are allegations of "sexual torture" on the part of Lewter, who was hit with a charge of sexual abuse using an inanimate object.

This brings an entirely new angle to this already shocking case.

Lewter and Walls knew each other, and there was an intense disagreement between the two, but the "sexual torture" charge takes this case to a whole different level.
