Girl Dies 10 Days After Being Shot In Head

Ra’niya Steward, a young girl from southern Illinois who was shot in the head while she was standing on her front porch, has died.

She fought for her life for nearly two weeks in the hospital before she passed away.

Five people have all been charged with first-degree murder in Steward’s death.

Even if all five of the people charged spend their lives behind bars, a very young child will never get to grow up because of their heinous actions.

Nothing will change that.

One of her neighbors, Paul Killion, described Steward as a “sweetheart.”

“She was just 13 years old, and she didn’t have to die,” Killion continued.

Jarret Ford, the local police chief, has also shared his condolences.

“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the tragic loss of this vibrant young girl,” Ford said.

We pray for peace and healing for the victim’s family who is no doubt absolutely heartbroken over this horrific tragedy.
