Frank Luntz predicts Trump more likely to win in 2024 after Colorado ballot ruling

Pollster and political consultant Frank Luntz predicted after Colorado ruled to bar former President Donald Trump from the ballot that he has an even greater chance to win the 2024 presidential election because of the decision.

Luntz, who does not support Trump, said the Colorado case would have “the same impact as his 91 indictments.” Trump actually has only four criminal indictments, which total 91 separate counts against him.

The Colorado State Supreme Court ruled that Trump was ineligible to hold public office because he participated in an "insurrection" on Jan. 6, 2021.

The court used the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to justify its ruling, but the amendment was really meant to address former Confederate soldiers running for office, not someone like Trump.

“Donald Trump thrives on negativity, he thrives on legal systems that try to hold him accountable, and I’m convinced that his polling numbers are going to go up,” Luntz told CNN host Pamela Brown.

Trump currently leads in seven key swing states that generally determine election results, according to several recent polls.
