Former ambassador Scott Brown mulling Senate run in 2026
Scott Brown, who served four years as U.S. ambassador to New Zealand in President-elect Donald Trump's first term, is reportedly mulling a Senate run in 2026 to unseat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH).
Brown, who has served as a senator for Massachusetts and was the Republican Senate nominee in New Hampshire in 2014, is mulling a comeback that could flip a key seat in the upper chamber away from Democrats in the midterm elections.
A decision from Brown to run would create a competitive and extremely expensive Senate clash for Democrats who are strapped for cash and dealing with donor outrage over spending during the 2024 presidential election.
The former lawmaker is a titan of an individual, as he is said to be extremely competitive and has successfully completed nine triathlons this year alone.
He also is the lead singer and guitarist with the rock band Scott Brown and the Diplomats.
Should he choose to make a comeback to the Senate, it will be a nightmare for Democrats and a huge win for Donald Trump who will need the Senate under Republican control to enact his agenda over the next four years.
