Gene Rossi, a U.S. Department of Justice official from 1989 to 2016 and now an adjunct faculty member of the Department of Criminology, Law and Society at George Mason University, told CBS's Katherine Herridge on Tuesday that Hunter Biden would face a “a very much more aggressive prosecution" if he were named Hunter Smith.

Rossi stated, “If this were Hunter Smith instead of Hunter Biden, I think you would have a very much more aggressive prosecution.”

On Twitter, Rossi subsequently said, "If the defendant were named Hunter S'mith,' he would have been charged by USDOJ (for whom I had THIRTY tax trials) with a 'felony' tax charge for hiding an astounding $3 million in overseas income on two tax returns."

Rossi is no conservative and also said Trump deserved his felony charges on document mishandling.

Most Democrats are keeping their thoughts about the Hunter plea deal mum, which is very telling.

Republicans are outraged and see that it's all a phony attempt to make it look like they're being fair by prosecuting both sides.
