Former CNN producer John Griffin has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for luring a 9-year-old girl into performing sex acts in Vermont as well as other serious offenses against children.

After an initial not guilty plea in 2021, Griffin pleaded guilty to three charges of using a facility of interstate commerce to attempt to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual activity. Two charges of enticing a minor were dropped as part of the deal.

Griffin sent messages on Kik and Google Hangouts to single mothers of underage girls, asking them to let him train their daughters to be "sexually submissive."

He actually got one woman and her nine-year-old to come to Vermont, and he engaged in sex acts with both mother and daughter. She was also arrested for her part in the scheme.

He tried the scheme two other times with less success.

Griffin will be supervised for 15 years once he does get out of prison.
