Food Network Host Michael Chiarello Dead At 61

If you're a fan of food or television, you're not going to like this one.

Celebrity chef Michael Chiarello has died suddenly at age 61 after "having an allergic reaction which led to anaphylactic shock."

His family released a statement confirming the news:

We deeply mourn the loss of our beloved patriarch Michael. His culinary brilliance, boundless creativity, and unwavering commitment to family were at the core of his being. He brought people together through the joy of shared meals, fostering lasting memories around the table.

According to the New York Post, Chiarello died while surrounded by family and friends in Napa, California.

Chiarello has had multiple television shows, including one on the Food Network titled Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello."

For that show, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Service Show Host in 2005.

Chiarello also had his own show on PBS at one point.
