Sen. John Fetterman Could Remain In Hospital For Month Or More

Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, insisted again and again on the campaign trail that his health was NOT going to impact his ability to lead if he was elected.

Well, he got elected, and how long do you think it took his health issues to come into play?

I don't know what the official measurement is, but the phrase "almost immediately" would certainly cover it.

Fetterman, who previously suffered a stroke that left him possibly unable to communicate and process information efficiently, checked himself into the hospital for "clinical depression" about a month into his tenure as senator.

Early reports are suggesting he could remain in the hospital for over a month.

The Wall Street Journal was the first to break the news, saying:

His office said that Mr. Fetterman has experienced depression off and on throughout his life and that the senator voluntarily entered the hospital after consulting with the attending physician for Congress, Dr. Brian P. Monahan.

A senior aide to Mr. Fetterman said in an interview late Friday that the senator will remain hospitalized as doctors try out new medications and dosages to test their efficacy. Mr. Fetterman will also engage in talk therapy, the aide said, meeting with a professional therapist to discuss the experiences he has had, including the challenges of campaigning for office.

The hospital stay could range from weeks to more than a month, but likely less than two months, the aide said, citing the time frame the doctors are focusing on.

This isn't about making fun of Fetterman's health, it's about watching out for America's health. The senator isn't healthy enough himself to do that.
