Federal judge locks Treasury Secretary, and Elon Musk out of department data

 February 10, 2025

A federal judge issued a ruling on Saturday locking out the Trump administration and Elon Musk's DOGE from accessing Treasury Department data amid an audit exposing massive fraud and waste in the federal government.

The ruling was issued by U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer after the court “received an application for a temporary restraining order filed by” attorney generals in over a dozen liberal states.

What has sparked outrage is the fact that Judge Engelmayer's order is attempting to lock out not only DOGE, but also Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who is supposed to be in charge of the department.

Conservative Charlie Kirk took to X saying, "New York Judge Paul Engelmayer just forbade all political appointees -- including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent -- from accessing Dept. of Treasury data, all based on Blueanon conspiracy theories!!... It forbids the elected government from accessing information about budget and finances. Instead, only the permanent, deep-state government can know what's being spent."

This ruling essentially amounts to an insurrection by a leftist judge and the faceless deep state against the elected executive branch led by President Donald Trump.

This ruling will be challenged, but the Trump administration must respond with extreme force, as this decision amounts to an unacceptable attempt to undermine the power of the executive.
