Report: FBI warned of ISIS-inspired terrorists months before New Orleans attack

 January 5, 2025

The FBI knew a year ago that the events in the Middle East, such as ISIS terror attacks after the fall of Afghanistan, could inspire "lone wolves"  to commit attacks right here in America.

The agency was not able to stop all such attacks, and now New Year's Day 2025 will be remembered for bloodshed and death, not new beginnings.

Two separate attacks occurred on Jan. 1, with at least the one in New Orleans confirmed to have been inspired by ISIS.

According to JustTheNews.com:

FBI Director Christopher Wray specifically warned in April in testimony before Congress that there was an increasing danger that individuals in the United States could be radicalized by events in the Middle East to carry out attacks on U.S. soil as homegrown terrorists.

The FBI recently announced that the man who killed over a dozen people in New Orleans on Jan. 1 was inded inspired by ISIS, having posted about his support for the group just hours before the deadly attack happened.

Christopher Raia, the FBI deputy director for counterterrorism said, "So what I can tell you right now is that he was 100% inspired by ISIS. And so we’re digging — we’re digging through more of the social media, more interviews, working with some of our other partners to ascertain just a little bit more about that connection."

Let's hope that no more attacks like this follow and that the FBI can snuff out anything in the future LONG before it happens.
