Drone Strike Kills ISIS Leader

July 11, 2023

America's military killed an ISIS leader in eastern Syria on Friday in a rare big win for Joe Biden's administration.

Three US MQ-9 Reaper drones that last week were in the news for being harassed by Russian aircraft were the same three drones that were used to kill Usama al-Muhajir, according to U.S. Central Command.

"We have made it clear that we remain committed to the defeat of ISIS throughout the region," Gen. Michael Kurilla, a Central Command commander, said.

"There are no indications that any civilians were killed in this strike, and the coalition is assessing reports of a civilian injury," the agency added.

ISIS is not nearly as powerful as it used to be. Back in 2014 the terrorist group controlled a third of Iraq and Syria, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be taken seriously.

They are very sick, very dangerous people.

At least now there's one fewer of them.
