It's a new week in America, and a deadly reminder for families in Democrat-run Chicago that life is too short, thanks in part to the radical, progressive policies of the politicians that run one of the country's former great cities.
According to Breitbart, at least 29 people were shot across Chicago, now one of the most dangerous cities in the country. At least five lost their lives.
If you thought former Mayor Lori Lightfoot's Chicago was bad, it looks as though Mayor Brandon Johnson's (D) version is becoming even worse, as the number of shootings, mostly a result of violent gang-related incidents, rages across the Windy City every weekend.

Breitbart noted:
ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reported a 16-year-old died after being shot just before 7 p.m. Friday and an 18-year-old was shot and killed while sitting inside a vehicle roughly three hours later. The 18-year-old was “in the 4300-block of West Maypole Avenue” when he was shot.
The carnage continued:
A 34-year-old man was shot multiple times and fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting around 2 a.m. Saturday. He was standing “in the 8900-block of South Carpenter Street” when the shooting occurred, and he died later in a hospital.
Sadly, it was also reported that Seventeen-year-old Ashuntice Wilburn was shot and taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Social media reacted to the continuous violence in Democrat-controlled Chicago, with many mocking the fact that more people tend to get shot and killed in the city with some of the harshest gun laws on the books.
"If only the Democrats in Chicago that have run the city for a century could pass more gun laws, then things would change!" one X user wrote.
Another commenter noted that the headlines coming out of Chicago each weekend always tell the same story and have told that story for far too long.
"I read a news story like this weekly and have for decades," one X user wrote.
The killings come in the wake of a Chicago Democrat pleading with gang members to only carry out shootings overnight.
