Donald Trump's support among Republican and right-leaning Independents soaring

 January 29, 2023

Former President Donald Trump officially kicked off his 2024 campaign on Saturday in New Hampshire, and things are looking good so far. A Marquette Law School poll found that he enjoys a high favorability rating with Republicans and right-leaning Independents.

The poll found that 70% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents have a favorable view of Trump compared to just 28% who have an unfavorable view of Trump.

Trump's popularity seems to have recovered and he is far ahead of any potential competitor.

The poll also asked respondents about Trump's former Vice President, Mike Pence. Pence is far behind Trump at a 53% favorability rating which means he will have a difficult time should he choose to run against his boss in 2024.

Other high-profile Republicans suffered from lack of national recognition which puts Trump solidly as the frontrunner for the nomination in 2024.

Of course, there is a long time to go, and Trump's challengers have plenty of time to make their case, but for now Trump is back and seemingly better than ever.
