Donald Trump working to regain pro-life credentials ahead of 2024 election

April 24, 2023

Former President Donald Trump is hard at work assuring Republican voters that he is firmly on the pro-life side after a major pro-life group knocked his credentials for his comments on abortion being a state's rights issue.

Trump addressed a crowd of over a thousand during the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition gathering rebutting criticisms from the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America group.

That group called Trump's comments on abortion a "morally indefensible position for a self-proclaimed pro-life presidential candidate."

Trump used his record as president to defend his pro-life record by pointing to the "monumental victories for faith, for family, for freedom, and for life. Together we achieved more for our values than any administration in the history of our country, and it’s not even close. I appointed over 300 judges who filled the federal bench with pro-constitutional warriors who interpret the laws as written."

Nonetheless, Trump will have to recant his previous comments and support a 15-week federal abortion ban at minimum to capture the support of the Susan B. Anthony group.

His past accomplishments will mean little to pro-life voters if he doesn't come out and take strong positions going into 2024.
