Rasmussen: Trump Maintains 'Massive' Republican Primary Lead

Former President Donald Trump continues to dominate in polls, despite predictions that his approval ratings would taper off as the election draws closer.

Trump is leading the Republican primary race with a "massive" lead, as Rasmussen Reports explains.

Respondents were asked, "If the Republican presidential primary were held today, which of the following candidates would you vote for?"

In the Republican field specifically, Trump has a large lead in the primary, with 62% supporting him.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came in at a distant second with only 17% support.

Additionally, Trump leads in the GOP primary among independent voters, receiving 34% support to DeSantis’ 16%.

Also notable, 17% of independent voters said they'd prefer "some other candidate."

A Economist/YouGov poll also found Trump dominating DeSantis among Republicans, garnering 58% to DeSantis' 25%.

The latest Morning Consult survey also showed Trump dominating in the GOP primary field with a lead of 43 points.

"Following Tuesday’s election day in various parts of the country, Trump mocked DeSantis after the Trump-backed Daniel Cameron won the GOP primary in Kentucky, despite DeSantis backing one of his challengers at the eleventh hour. Meanwhile, Democrat Donna Deegan flipped Jacksonville, defeating the GOP candidate Daniel Davis in the mayor’s race — a devastating blow to the GOP and DeSantis," reported Breitbart.

"Wow! In a big upset, the DeSanctimonious backed Republican candidate for Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, LOST. This is a shocker. If they would have asked me to Endorse, he would have won, easily. Too proud to do so. Fools!" Trump said.

"This is a BIG LOSS for the Republican Party. Remember, 'Rob' only won because of me!!!" Trump added.

Later, Trump added that DeSantis has lost his "magic."
