Donald Trump kicks off 2024 campaign with South Carolina and New Hampshire stops

January 29, 2023

Former President Donald Trump kicked off his 2024 presidential campaign by making stops in New Hampshire and South Carolina on Saturday and came out guns blazing against President Joe Biden.

Trump began Saturday with an event in New Hampshire where he assured disgruntled Americans that he is "more angry" and "committed" than ever to stopping Democrats and their destructive agenda.

Trump then dashed down south for an event in South Carolina at the state capitol where he appeared with Governor Henry McMaster (R) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

During his speech in South Carolina, Trump took aim at President Biden saying, "Joe Biden has put America on the fast track to ruin and destruction, and we will ensure that he does not receive four more years."

Republicans certainly don't want four more years of President Biden in the White House, but the question is whether they will choose Trump as the man for the job.

Trump is the de facto leader of the Republican field, but there are other figures who could come forward and present a significant challenge to Trump's ambitions. Trump is getting an early start because he knows it will be a long road to the nomination, let alone the White House.
