Donald Trump jumps to a 26-point lead over Ron DeSantis following indictment

 April 3, 2023

Former President Donald Trump has jumped to an astronomical 26-point lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) following his indictment in New York, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll.

This poll was conducted after Trump's indictment was announced, and it suggests that the charges have made the former president a martyr for the conservative cause and given him a boost that has him crushing his strongest rival.

DeSantis was viewed by many as a legitimate competitor to Trump, but that was before Bragg put together a grand jury to indict Trump in a scene more fitting of the former Soviet Union than the United States.

The poll found that 57% of respondents chose Trump in a head-to-head hypothetical matchup against DeSantis, who received 31% support.

DeSantis has yet to confirm a run for president, and it's possible the latest polling data are giving him second thoughts about running. If he doesn't stand a chance of beating Trump, why not sit tight in Florida and wait until 2028?

Trump is only growing stronger thanks to the insane political corruption of the left and it is beginning to feel inevitable that Trump will take the nomination with little trouble unless something drastic happens.
