A New York Times/Siena College poll released on Sunday found that former President Donald Trump is beating President Joe Biden in five key swing states with the 2024 presidential election just under a year away.
The poll found that Trump is crushing Biden by 10 points in Nevada, six points in Georgia, five points in Arizona and Michigan, and four points in Pennsylvania.
Nevada was seen as a state that was very likely to flip in 2024, but Trump's leads in the other states are both a big surprise as well as a nightmare for Democrats.
Biden won all of those states in 2020 and losing them with under a year to go before 2024 should set off alarm bells. After everything Democrats have thrown at Trump, Biden is such a failure as a candidate that the same voters who elected him are going back to his predecessor.
Voters indicated that they trusted Trump to do a better job handling the economy, executing foreign policy, and fixing the nation's immigration crisis.
Democrats need to do something quickly if they want any chance of hanging onto the White House in 2024.
