Trump has control of the North Carolina Republican primary race: Poll

Former President Donald Trump has a firm hold over the North Carolina Republican primary race according to a survey from the John Locke Foundation that was released this week.

The survey found that 55% of likely GOP voters in North Carolina would support Donald Trump giving him a commanding lead over the Republican field.

His nearest competitor was Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), who was behind Trump by double digits as he pulled in 22% support.

No other candidates pulled double-digit support. Trump's former Vice President, Mike Pence, garnered 8% support and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley pulled in 5%.

This poll is just the latest that has found an unbreaking pattern of dominance by Donald Trump. The 2024 Republican nomination is set to be a showdown between Trump and DeSantis unless something drastic happens to boost another candidate.

Even DeSantis seems to have little chance of taking Trump down setting the stage for a massive return for Donald Trump. Unless something big changes, Trump will be the undisputed Republican nominee in 2024.
