Dolly Parton says she's 'always in costume at Christmas'

Dolly Parton, now 77, took to X last week to share some of the reasoning behind why she's "always in costume at Christmas."

“If I’m not in a Santa suit, I wear reds and greens,” she posted. “I wear sweaters with Christmas lights on them where I push a button and I light up.”

Even her hair has been decked out as part of the season.

“My hairdresser, Cheryl Riddle, even puts Christmas lights in my hair for Cookie Night. I have so many Christmas memories,” Parton added.

Parton shared the experience in her book, Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, released in October.

She released her first rock album, Rockstar, in November. It is her 49th studio album in a career that spans five decades and, it has been her highest-charting album to date.
