DOJ 'independent,' Biden said to deflect claims of interference in Hunter Biden probe

President Joe Biden's Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Thursday that there was no cause to suspect that Biden was interfering in the DOJ's decision about whether to charge his son Hunter Biden with a crime because that agency had always been "independent" from Biden.

“The president has always been clear during the campaign, during his presidency that the Department of Justice should have independence; they should not be politicized,” Jean-Pierre said during a White House press briefing. “And they should be able to do their job independently, essentially.”

“The president respects the rule of law and the independence of the Department of Justice,” she added.

But we must remember that Biden is a habitual liar, with one of his latest lies being the denial of his family members getting foreign payouts even though House Republicans have the bank records now to prove it.

An IRS whistleblower said on Wednesday that two Biden political operatives are trying to block charges against Hunter Biden on tax evasion even as others recommend the charges be filed.

Back in March, Attorney General Merrick Garland insisted that Trump-appointed U.S. prosecutor David Weiss had the autonomy to indict Hunter Biden, but he also said that any charges would have to be approved by him first.
