The allegation by whistleblower Gary Shapley that the Joe Biden DOJ prevented U.S. Attorney David Weiss from charging Hunter Biden with tax crimes in Washington, D.C. and California has been independently verified by the New York Times.
Weiss was prevented twice from bringing stronger charges against Biden, according to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO).
The Times reported that two whistleblowers said Weiss was not allowed to charge Biden and said that an independent source with knowledge of the situation verified the whistleblower allegations to the newspaper.
The Times did wait until the 21st paragraph to report the verification, however, as noted by Breitbart News.
The paper also tried to explain away the failure by saying that Shapley and the DOJ just had different interpretations of the events.
Weiss also asked Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel in the case, a designation that would greater separation and independence from the administration, but his request was not approved.
