DNC footed part of Biden's legal bills for classified docs probe: Report

 April 13, 2024

Democrats have been extremely quick to call out the Republican National Committee (RNC) for even the thought of using funds to assist in paying former President Donald Trump's legal bills.

But according to The Epoch Times, paying a president's legal bills seems to be totally fine on the Democratic side.

The outlet reported that due to recently uncovered FEC filings, it appears that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) paid a shockingly large amount of money to two law firms representing Joe Biden during his classified documents probe.

The outlet connected the dots which reportedly paint a clear picture regarding the DNC helping Biden with his legal woes over the course of the last year.

The outlet wrote:

According to Federal Election Commission records published by the DNC between February 2023 and March 2024, the committee paid about $1.86 million to two firms representing President Biden: Bob Bauer PLLC and Hemenway & Barnes LLP.

In U.S. Department of Justice Special Counsel Robert Hur's final report on Biden's classified documents probe, it noted that the investigation into his handling of classified documents began in November 2022.

Hur's report named Bob Bauer and Jennifer Miller as Biden's counsel in the matter, which is where things get interesting.

Bauer served as White House counsel from 2011 to 2013. Miller "is counsel and co-chair of the Government & Election Law Group at the Boston-based law firm" where she works.

A recent post by RNC Research on its X account connects the first dots, writing, "NOTE: $1+ million was paid to Bob Bauer — whose wife, Anita Dunn, is a top staffer in the Biden White House."

The Epoch Times added:

According to the DNC’s FEC filings, the committee paid Bob Bauer PLLC about $1 million between April 2023 and February 2024 and Hemenway & Barnes about $800,000 between January 2023 and January 2024.

Not surprisingly, the chair of the DNC, Jaime Harrison, who otherwise almost always has something to say, has gone silent in the wake of the report. Equally unsurprising is that the White House hasn't responded to it, either.

The findings sparked immediate backlash, with many noting the almost surreal levels of hypocrisy coming from the left side of the aisle.

“Democrats have a serious problem with PROJECTION,” Jake Schneider, the RNC’s director of rapid response, wrote. "If Democrats didn’t have hypocrisy, they’d have nothing at all."
