Dianne Feinstein says she's 'been working' while absent from Senate

May 18, 2023

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) denied to reporters that she has been "gone" from the Senate while recovering from a case of shingles for the past two months until her return last week in a wheelchair.

"I haven’t been gone. I’ve been working,” she said, even though she was hospitalized for part of that time.

When the reporter asked if she meant that she had been working remotely, she said, “No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting. Please. You either know or don’t know.”

It has been suspected for some time that Feinstein might be suffering from a similar kind of mental diminishment as our president, and these comments bolster that suspicion.

The fact that Feinstein has not been present and voting had begun to weigh on her colleagues and the Biden administration because Democrats didn't have enough votes to pass Biden's appointments through the judicial committee, so for her to say she's been "voting" is just not true.

Even since she's been back for a week, she has missed votes, which will only add to the sentiment from some Democrats that maybe she should step down before her term is up in 2024.
