Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem showed up in New York City on Tuesday to speak to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and other officers from multiple agencies as well as walk the streets to "get rid of dirtbags" there.

Noem wore tactical, bulletproof gear and thanked "the brave officers involved" in the effort.

By "dirtbags," Noem meant illegal immigrants who had committed crimes, especially violent ones.

“Just now. Enforcement operation in NYC. Criminal alien with kidnapping, assault & burglary charges is now in custody -- thanks to @ICE. Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our streets,” Noem posted on X.

DHS piggybacked on Noem's message, posting, “We will not rest till American communities are safe. America is no longer a safe haven for violent criminals.”

Nationwide, more than 7,300 criminal illegal immigrants were removed in the first week of Trump's tenure, another X post noted.
