DHS Sec. Kristi Noem authorizes firing of 4 FEMA officials over hotel payments for illegals

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made headlines this week after she approved the firing of four FEMA employees who were clearly not team players.

According to Breitbart, DHS’s Tricia McLaughlin released a statement confirming that four FEMA officials had been fired for circumventing leadership to make payments for migrant housing in a New York hotel.

The firings include "FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts, as well as a grant specialist."

McLaughlin held nothing back as she slammed the "deep state operatives" within the ranks of the agency, vowing that they will not be able to make such moves on Noem's watch.

The statement explained her side of what happened and cautioned others within the agency who might be considering making similar decisions to circumvent leadership.

"Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants," she said.

McLaughlin added, "Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people."

The news comes one day after Elon Musk, heading up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), announced that they uncovered the $59 million payment — made last week — sent by FEMA to house migrants in luxury hotels in the Big Apple.

Musk wrote about the egregious situation involving the FEMA employees on his X account.

"The @DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants. Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order,” Musk wrote at the time.

He added, "That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals!"

FEMA, like several other government agencies, is under the microscope of the new Trump administration and DOGE.

The waste and corruption are finally coming to an end. It'll be interesting to see how much more is uncovered.
