Devon Archer challenges Biden's claims on family business

 August 6, 2023

Devon Archer, in a recent interview, contradicted President Joe Biden's statements regarding his involvement in the Biden family's business deals.

In a conversation with Tucker Carlson, as reported by Breitbart, Devon Archer stated that Joe Biden's assertions about not being involved in the family's business ventures are "categorically false."

Archer's perspective on Biden's involvement

Archer, during the interview, emphasized that evidence suggests Joe Biden had knowledge of and was involved in his family's business activities. When Carlson questioned the accuracy of Biden's claims of non-involvement, Archer responded, "I think that’s not factually right."

Furthermore, Archer mentioned that Biden was aware of his son Hunter's business endeavors and even met with Hunter's business associates.

Details on Biden's Involvement

Archer referred to a thank you note he received from Joe Biden in 2011, which further indicates Biden's awareness of the business dealings. In 2014, both Archer and Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company facing legal challenges.

He also indicated that Burisma executives pressured Hunter Biden in 2015 to seek assistance from Washington, D.C. regarding Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who was investigating the company for corruption. Notably, Joe Biden later publicly boasted about advocating for Shokin's dismissal during a 2015 visit to Ukraine.

Archer expressed his belief that the Biden brand played a crucial role in Burisma's survival. "I think Burisma would have gone out of business if it didn’t have the brand attached to it," he commented. He further elaborated on the power of the Biden brand, stating that it added significant weight, especially when Joe Biden was the vice president.

The situation was, according to Archer, an "abuse of soft power."
