DeSantis Says Trump's Legal Woes Keeping Republicans From Moving On

 January 23, 2024

Any prosecution plan to take down Former President Donald Trump has completely backfired on the left.

According to former GOP candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump’s indictments only added fuel to the already growing fire of supporters backing the former president.

"I mean, one, you saw the increase in his support when he had the indictment, and every subsequent indictment seems to get a little bit more support. You can track that — it's a very clear correlation," DeSantis said during his recent appearance on the podcast New Hampshire Today.

DeSantis also went on to call out Trump’s campaign tactics, insinuating the way the Trump has been running is a bit unfair.

“I think that the reality is, is this is a guy that has not been willing to debate. He's not been willing to answer questions from voters. He's basically run a basement campaign. And so far, he's gotten away with it because I think he hasn't been hit by the media for it," said DeSantis.

Despite the criticism DeSantis delivered on New Hampshire Today, he also endorsed Donald Trump in the same video he announced his campaign suspension.

"He has my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear,” DeSantis said in the video.

Do you think Trump will be the Republican presidential nominee in 2024?
