DeSantis Mocks Newsom For Father-In-Law Leaving California For Florida

In case you haven't heard, the debate on Thursday between Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, and Gavin Newsom, the Democrat governor of California, was pretty heated.

It was also pretty lopsided.

DeSantis pretty soundly thumped the boy from California.

One can even point to the exact moment that DeSantis REALLY got under Gavin Newsom's skin and won the debate.

"So, I was talking to a fella who had made the move from California to Florida, and he was telling me that Florida is much better governed, safer, better budget, lower taxes, all this stuff, and he’s really happy with the quality of life," DeSantis said during the debate, adding:

And then he paused, and he said, "You know, by the way, I’m Gavin Newsom’s father-in-law."

Ouch. No wonder Newsom's wife rushed onto the stage and ended the debate during a commercial break.
