Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) remained coy about whether he will run for president in 2024, answering a reporter's question at a press conference with a question.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" DeSantis said with a laugh when a reporter at a Jacksonville car dealership asked him whether he would follow Nikki Haley's lead in becoming a candidate.
DeSantis was easily re-elected as governor, but a 2024 presidential run would cut his second term in half if he can wrestle the nomination away from former President Donald Trump.
Polls have been split between a lead for Trump and a lead for DeSantis among Republican voters.
Sources say if DeSantis does run, he would not announce until May or June, after the current legislative session.
Trump obviously sees DeSantis as a threat and started attacking him months ago as ungrateful for Trump's help, a RINO and a globalist.
