A new Twitter video by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' campaign blasted former President Donald Trump, currently the Republican frontrunner in 2024, for "celebrating" LGBTQIA+ persons "more than any Republican."

"To wrap up ‘Pride Month,’ let’s hear from the politician who did more than any other Republican to celebrate it…" the campaign said, citing Pride-themed campaign merchandise and a friendship with Caitlyn Jenner, who is transgender as well as a 2016 pledge to "protect our LGBTQ citizens."

The video has more than a million views, but not everyone liked it, of course.

DeSantis recently signed legislation that aims to protect children from LGBTQ policies that could harm them. One bill bans "gender-affirming care" for minors and another one prohibits drag shows where children could be present.

The governor is Catholic, while Trump is Protestant, but it is unclear exactly what Protestant denomination to which he belongs, if any.

Trump claimed at the Faith & Freedom Coalition gala in Washington, D.C. that no president had "ever fought for Christians as hard" as he had while president.
