DeSantis and Newsom to debate Thursday in event moderated by Sean Hannity
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) will debate each other on Thursday night with host Sean Hannity in Alpharetta, Georgia.
The two governors have been trading barbs for almost two years, and they both want to be president, although only one is actually running a campaign at the moment.
Newsom has been widely accused of running a shadow campaign so that he can step in at a moment's notice if President Joe Biden decides to pull out of the race or can't continue.
"They’re perfect foils for one another. They both lead some of the biggest states in the country. They both have very prominent roles in their respective parties, and they both love attention," Republican strategist Ryan Williams told Fox News.
DeSantis vs. Newsom: The Great Red vs. Blue State Debate will air on Fox News at 9 p.m.
It will also be broadcast on Fox Radio and streamed online with cable authentication.
