Democrats threatening not to certify Election if Trump wins

 October 13, 2024

Congressional Democrats are suggesting that they may not certify the results of the 2024 election should former President Donald Trump win in an ironic twist that has shocked Americans.

After years of talking about Trump as a threat to democracy and screeching about the Jan. 6, 2021, unrest, Democrats are now on the other side and appear to be contemplating the same course of action for which they condemned Trump.

Ironically, the leading voice for this emerging movement to not certify the 2024 results is former Jan. 6 committee member Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who was one of Trump's most zealous prosecutors and a supposed crusader of democracy.

Raskin told Axios that if Trump "won a free, fair and honest election, then we would obviously accept it,” which indicates Democrats plan to run the same playbook that Trump ran in 2020.

The lawmaker went on to say that "Democrats don’t engage in election fraud and election fabrication," as if they are morally superior and would never engage in unethical behavior.

Raskin has previously been caught on video discussing the possibility of Democrats rejecting a Trump victory even if it caused a civil war. These are the same people who have been attacking Trump as a threat to the nation for years.
