Democrats claim polling 'useless' as Trump grows lead over Biden

Democrat lawmakers are publicly disavowing polling that shows former President Donald Trump continuing to have a lead over President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election, Fox News reported.

"I think polling is increasingly useless," Rep. Pat Ryan (D-NY) told Punchbowl News. "If we haven’t taken that away from the last few elections, I don’t know how much more we need to see."

"What are we, 11 months out from the next election? I mean, that’s a double eternity in politics," Rep. Matt Cartwright (D-PA) agreed.

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), who is running a primary challenge to Biden, had a different story to tell, however.

"Everyone’s reading the polls, everybody sees," Phillips said. Democrats whose seats are competitive in 2024 "won’t say it publicly, most likely, because that’s cutting off your nose to spite your face. But I think they’re all feeling the same thing."

There's trouble in paradise whether Democrats want to admit it or not.
