Democrat lawmaker mocked officer after being put in cuffs for DUI
Samantha Steele, a Democrat lawmaker from Illinois, is in some hot water.
The 45-year-old, who represents District 2 (much of the North Side of Chicago and the northern suburbs area), is being charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol.
However, it isn't the drunk driving that is putting Steele in the headlines, it's what she said to the cop after she was placedin handcuffs that is making news.
"Is your penis that small?" Steele reportedly asked the officer again and again.
She was arrested after an open bottle of red wine was spotted in her car.
"I observed her eyes were bloodshot and glassy," the arresting officer wrote in the report. "I also detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her breath as she spoke."
Police were on the scene of a two-car accident that Steele had caused. Steele is currently charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol.
