Democrat strategist blasts Kamala Harris for 'unfathomable' damage to party's brand
Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville torched Vice President Kamala Harris for the "unfathomable" damage she did to her party, something which will affect its ability to raise funds for future political ventures.
During an episode of Politics War Room on Thursday, Carville revealed, "The resistance is going to have trouble raising money. These fundraisers are burnt. They’re really pissed now, and the damage that the 2024 campaign has done, the damage that this decade has done to the Democratic brand is almost unfathomable, almost unfathomable."
The Harris campaign “raised nearly $1.5 billion, Harris told donors and the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) finance directors during a call Tuesday,” according to The Hill.
Carville continued saying, "But I’m telling you, without complete transparency, the campaign — we think — raised a billion and a half dollars. Okay, we know that Future Forward, the last we saw, was $900 million, so we can assume that they got to a billion before election. That’s two and a half freaking billion dollars."
Harris wasted billions of dollars all to lose the election in historic fashion to Trump becoming the first Democrat candidate to lose the popular vote in decades.
However, Carville is concerned that Harris has now done long-term damage to Democrats' ability to fundraise as many of the party's donors are furious about the massive scale on which the VP's campaign wasted their money.
