Democrat Senate candidate Ruben Gallego fighting to keep divorce records sealed

 February 25, 2024

Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) is fighting to keep his divorce records from going public as he believes there is no reason the citizenry needs the details surrounding the 2016 proceedings.

Gallego divorced his wife -- who was nine months pregnant at the time -- in 2016 and is now fighting against the Washington Free Beacon, which filed a motion to unseal the documents from the divorce proceedings.

While Gallego contends that there is no public interest in his records, the Free Beacon disagrees, citing Gallego's own admissions regarding his time in Iraq, which he said caused him to be prone to "extreme outbursts" and excessive drinking.

The Free Beacon believes that the divorce, which came at a terrible time, considering his wife was about to have his child, may have been caused by domestic violence and Gallego's inability to adapt to home life.

The Free Beacon has a strong precedent backing up its argument, as several other high-profile cases have been unsealed and led to bombshell discoveries.

Gallego is running against Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and has been endorsed by many radical leftists, including organizations that advocate for defunding the police.
